Frequently Asked Questions

Calendars from the Outlook app are not shown

Android offers a standard way to register calendars in the system, so that they can be read by other applications like 'Simple Calendar Widget'. If the outlook app does not do this, no other app can retrieve its data.

Widget is not available on my Huawei device

Huawei devices had a bug which prevented the app from working correctly. This led to many negative reviews from Huawei users and therefore I marked the app as being incompatible with those devices. The bug was apparently fixed on many newer Huawei devices now, so it is likly that the widget works correctly now - however, as it is a free app, I do not benefit from making the app available again and the risk of getting negative reviews due to Huawei problems is still there. I therefore have decided NOT to make the widget available on Huawei devices for now. If you still want to use it, you can download version 2.4.2 here: [download]

The widget does not show birthdays

The app does not have permission to access your contacts, and I want to keep it that way. If you want to see your contacts birthdays, simply add those to a calendar. You can use an app like this one to automatically do this

Automatic update does not work

The app registers for updates on the system calendar content provider. Whenever the system sends an update, the widget automatically refreshes. If a calendar app does not trigger an update of the systems content provider when inserting new events, please contact the developer of that calendar app.

The app does not keep running in the background / when the screen is off / when the device is idle for some time

Please try applying things that dontkillmyapp.com lists for your device manufacturer
